Animation Accelerator Program
mitú and Sony Pictures Animation bring a unique and empowering opportunity to the next generation of diverse animators through the mitú/Sony Pictures Animation Accelerator Program.
mitú’s Accelerator and Sony Pictures Animation’s award-winning creative team will provide mentorship, hands-on training and resources to driven and passionate, early to mid level animators, who will immerse themselves in an intensive program from January 8, 2018 to March 2, 2018 hosted at both the Sony Pictures Animation studios in Culver City and mitú’s studios in Downtown Los Angeles. Creators will have the opportunity to receive compensation to develop their original idea while refining and leveraging their talents in:
Designing your characters and environments
3D-Production and Pre Vis
Pitching your concepts to Sony Pictures Animation and mitú Executives
Using After Effects, Music, Voice Overs and much more!

Must reside in the Los Angeles area for the entirety of the program
Must be available for the 8-week period
Must be at least 18 years old
Applications are open to passionate animation graduates, self-taught practitioners or freelancers with an early to mid-level skill set
Understanding of and ability to demonstrate visual storytelling
Access to relevant animation and editing software packages (Neither Sony Pictures Animation nor mitú will provide any software/hardware to produce any final product)
Strong drawing skills are a plus
Strong problem solving and organizational skills
Must have a GREAT idea for a 3-5 minute, family friendly animated short
